Winter Skincare at Home – Adapt Your Skincare Routines And Reap The Benefits
Depending on where you live, you might need to deal with cold weather in the wintertime. While cold days are beautiful and enjoyable (especially with snow), winter weather can be hard on your skin, too. If that is the case you’ll need to make sure your skincare in winter is sufficient, so that you can keep looking beautiful with a supple skin.
If your skin is anything like mine, it will get upset as soon as the temperature gets a bit lower and the home, office and other places I frequently visit start to use heating. The dry, warm air inside and the coldness outside – and especially the drastic difference between these two temperatures every time I go out / go in – truly take a toll on the skin.
That’s why it’s essential to check your skincare routines as soon as you start noticing your skin reacting to the weather changes, if not sooner. The fact is, usually in the summertime you will need to use a lighter moisturizer than in winter. In addition, you might need to boost your skincare routines to include a nourishing mask. These are the two key points you should check while adapting your skincare routines to the weather change.
For example, if you only use a day cream in summer, it might be that you need to complement that with a night cream in the winter months. In the nighttime your skin regenerates itself, and if your skin is feeling dry or looking dull in the morning, it means that it’s not able to regenerate at the speed it should. You can help the process by using a good, all-natural skin cream with effective ingredients that support your skin’s own efforts throughout the night. Avocado oil and active Manuka honey are a few of my favorite ingredients in night creams.
Another great way to improve your skin’s moisture levels in the wintertime is to use a hydrating mask every two weeks. A good mask should be able to deeply hydrate and moisturize your skin. Go natural if you can – completely natural masks are usually more effective than ones with synthetic ingredients.
In fact, avocado oil and Manuka honey are also very effective ingredients also used in hydrating masks, as well as natural vitamin E and macadamia oil. If you haven’t been using masks before, give it a try, you might be surprised how wonderful your skin feels afterwards!
Also remember to keep hydrated from the inside by drinking enough water, and make skincare in winter a priority. That way when spring comes, you will be looking great with a supple, well hydrated skin!
